About me…

Hello, my name is Charlotte and I am an illustrator-maker based in Meanwood, Leeds. I have a background in art, starting off as an avid sketchbook filler as a child. Through school I studied art and afterwards chose to study BA Interior Architecture and Design. More recently, I completed an MA Illustration at Falmouth University where I was awarded a Merit and where I began my illustration journey.

In my earlier adult life I began a “small” obsession with houseplants, filling my rooms with plants and sometimes propagating my very own leafy babies. I dreamt of one day having an urban jungle I could be proud of! As I have grown through my 20s, I have become more and more interested in the environment and nature- drawing inspiration for my illustration work from my local area’s wildflowers, wildlife and ecosystems.

This has led me to base my current illustration practice around plants and nature. I believe that we can all do our bit to help the environment. Therefore, I aim to create a sustainable and mindful brand around my illustration practice. I make as much as I can by myself and the paper I use is always recycled. Of course, I am always searching for more ways to make my practice more eco-friendly which is all part of the fun!
